The 10 finalist startups met in Brussels to celebrate the closing of the European Mobility Award, in which a jury of experts chose the 4 winners.

Madrid, February 26, 2018 - Last Thursday, the city of Brussels was marked by innovation and mobility, where important startups, political personalities and experts in technology and transport met for the closing ceremony of the European Startup Prize for mobility, in which were announced the 4 winners. It was also an opportunity to pay tribute to three European successes in mobility: Drivy, Stuart and Txfy and BestMile.

Cargonexx, Cocolis, Klaxit and MaaS Global: Cargonexx, Cocolis, Klaxit and MaaS Global have been the four startups that won the first prize of the European Startup Prize for mobility, selected by a jury of experts from among 500 candidates based on criteria such as the ecological and social impact and the degree of innovation of the product or service. .

The 10 finalist startups presented their business to ten authorities in the world of transport, technology and economy, as well as the co-founders of the award: Karima Delli MEP, TheBoston Consulting Group and the startup accelerator specializing in mobility, Via ID.

Cargonexx - Germany

Cargonexx reduces empty truck races through artificial intelligence. Since its inception last year, the German startup is building the largest truck capacity network in Europe with more than 60,000 vehicles of this type. Loaders can order truck loads with just a click of the mouse. Orders are automatically sent to the truck that best suits the journey. The neural network Self-learning foresees the peaks of load and send to the trucks where they are required with anticipation. A win-win-win situation: transporters save money, transporters earn more and we all have fewer trucks on the roads.

Cocolis - France

Cocolis is a platform that connects people who need to send something with drivers who travel with an empty space in their vehicle. Shipping costs can be very expensive, especially for heavy or bulky items. With Cocolis everyone wins: senders pay up to 80% less and providers can save money while helping. An agreement with the French insurance mutual MAIF allows up to € 2000 to insure all items on the road. Cocolis operates in France and in the neighboring countries of Europe.

Klaxit - France

Klaxit is a specialist in the shared use of vehicles for traveling. It is the French leader with 100,000 daily trips and 700 places where it collects / destines its customers. Klaxit has developed a unique methodology to help companies develop car-sharing networks, increasing access, purchasing power and the well-being of their employees.

MaaS Global - Finland

With Mass Global, all daily travel needs are covered with a simple application. You can travel with a flat rate, or pay for use, in public transport, taxis, cars, bicycles, etc. MaaS Global is bringing to reality the concept of Mobility as a Service (MaaS), by building the world's first mobility ecosystem. The revolutionary mobile application, Whim, brings together all the means to travel and frees people from the high costs of owning a car.

For Karima Delli, "the European Startup Award for mobility will give these startups the impetus they need to take a new dimension, giving them international visibility and support in their development." This award represents a first instance of European recognition for them, and the Position as leaders in sustainable innovation in your market. "

A first impulse that will allow them to develop in other markets, especially through a support custom designed by The Boston Consulting Group, Via ID, Parallel Avocats and Grimaldi Studio. They will also participate, along with the other six startups that participated in the field, in a tour of the main European. technological events during which they will meet investors, partners and possible future customers.

The ceremony was also an opportunity to highlight the French successes Drivy and Stuart, as well as the Estonian Txfy, who were awarded for their careers and the quality of their European development.

Due to the high quality of some projects outside the European Union, the selection committee finally decided to create a special prize. For this first edition, the winner was the Swiss startup BestMile, an autonomous vehicle fleet management platform.
